Detective James "Sonny" Crockett and detective Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs, of the Miami-Dade police department's organized crime bureau vice unit, work deep undercover as seedy criminals to infiltrate and bring down the various criminal enterprises of southern Florida. Stubble-faced detective Crockett lived in a sailboat guarded by his alligator Elvis. His partner Tubbs was a black New York cop looking for his brother's killer. Together they took on the Florida drug world. The show influenced men's fashions toward Italo-casual and interior decor toward the Miami look. Very trendy music and unusual guest performers. Miami Vice was a beast unleashed. This TV show changed the US in fashion, automobiles, style, speech and a host of other things. Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas are narcotics detectives sent into some really bad situations. From drug bosses to homicidal maniacs - these ex-Vietnam vets are more than capable of taking down bad guys.

The music (packed (I mean PACKED) full of great songs from the 80's), women (some of the most beautiful and well known), cars (Ferraris to Lamborghinis), drugs (you name it), clothes (only the most expensive and the most trendy), night clubs (in Miami and New York), architecture (beautiful backdrops to the show), exotic sports (Jai Alai (the fastest ball game in the world and the most dangerous)), and everything else are all part of the cast in Miami Vice.

There is nothing in the world that will ever come close to this influential, legendary TV show. Miami Vice is a great series, featuring a good cast. This show truly has an 80's look to it, with the pastel suits and hairdos. Although this show only ran for five years, it was a benchmark in the 80's. John Diehl quit because of salary reasons, which was a downfall to the show. Dick Wolf adds to this show as an executive producer. Miami Vice has a great feel to it, and you just have to watch it every time it appears on television. With a great cast, good episodes, and a great look you can't go wrong. Today, it's always fun to watch the re-runs on television. I also recommend that if you are a Don Johnson fan, you also watch his television series Nash Bridges, with Philip Michael Thomas as a guest star. Although this is the only publicity that Philip Michael Thomas received, it was a good one. Miami Vice is a show that will always be remembered as a great show in the 80's. I wanted it to air longer though, it ran a short series. The movies that they did were great, I would recommend renting them. The story is great! Although many people did not like this series, and other shows put it down, I would still watch it to see what it was like in the 80's. Crockett carried many guns in this series, all from a Bren Ten 10mm to a Smith and Wesson. Just watch this television series and you will love it.
